In January 2012 I went to Ethiopia with Peter Hutton to shoot a film with him. While there I visited The Fresh and Green Academy outside Addis Ababa to find a Geocache. I met Yabsira Asefa and young girl that may have been his sister. They gave me a tour of the small school and dormitory where they live and go to school. They also made me some kick ass coffee in the traditional Ethiopian way. I learned that for very little money one can donate to the school and pay for a kid to live there, eat there and learn there for an entire year. These kids can totally change their lives and prosper for very little money. Yabsira sends a letter now and again to report on his progress. He seems to have grown quite a bit. I strongly urge you to check out the academy and sponsor at least one kid. Your money will go directly to educating, housing, and feeding these kids. Thanks to Muday who founded and runs the school and Tricia (sp?) who runs the charity effort and donations.
