Peter is having a gallery show at the Michael Abreu Gallery(s) on the lower east side. Three landscapes is showing alone at 36 Orchard and At Sea is showing with a film by James Benning at 88 Eldridge. It is very relaxing to sit in a room and be mesmerized by Peter’s silent films. Seeing them projected as tryptichs instead of as one long film gives them a very different feeling and is a little more palatable for today’s on the go New Yorker. Seeing the Ethiopian portion of Three Landscapes makes me so sad that I was unable to join him down there after our aborted first attempt. Everyone should see these films, they are so great.
