We love to visit Sheila, Eric, Sammy, and Yoko in Edisto. Edisto is a smallish barrier island off the coast of South Carolina. It is really hot there so you spend a lot of time soaking in the water. The rest of the time you are planning, preparing, or eating food. We mostly eat stuff that comes from right there. The highlights are boiled peanuts, shrimp, tomato sandwiches, crabs, and local veggies and fruits. This time we kayaked out to a deserted little sandbar/spit of land and searched for fossils. Everyone finds ancient shark teeth and other timeless ephemera. Edisto is great.
