We went back to Frank’s farm in Lindsborg, Kansas. All the birds are young and happy and the place is thriving. Frank works incredibly hard every single day to raise his 5000+ turkeys and 4000+ chickens all by himself. He and I moved 800 pounds of feed from one barn to the other using a tractor and some 5 gallon pails, he does that alone everyday as well as about 8 hrs of other grueling work to keep the birds alive and healthy. Things are feeling up out there with Emmer & Co. now selling Frank’s birds at a better price and Farm Forward’s work on the Good Sheperd Institute. It is great to see Frank happy and feel like something really good could come out of the work being done to preserve Frank’s unique knowledge of these rare birds.
