Sara, Georgia, Lily and I just got back from two weeks in Japan. We were in Tokyo, Kyoto, Naoshima Island, Hakone, and ended up back in Tokyo for a few days. We saw lots of amazing stuff, ate great food, saw cool art, and relaxed in lovely Japanese hotels. The best food was probably a tiny Tempura place, or a sushi place that Corey recommended called Hirono. We went to Jiro and it was really good, but a bit of a machine. As usual I could have stayed there forever, it was great to explore, especially someplace so new. We felt very at home in Tokyo and covered a lot of ground in many neighborhoods. There is an enormous amount of cool stuff going on there, it would take a few weeks in Tokyo alone to really get to know the place. I imagine we will go back to both Tokyo and Kyoto.
