Valerie invited us to another National Sawdust Fundraiser. This time it was in the big bank right over the bridge in Williamsburg. There was great music again. Rene Fleming sang and then Bryce Dessner from the National played a song called Garcia Counterpoint. I happen to LOVE Jerry Garcia. BD plays a solo electric guitar along with an old master tape of a classic Garcia solo. It is super Jazzy, arty, and great. ALL of the National Sawdust events Val has invited us to have been amazing. She is working very hard over there and the whole place is great, check it out.
PS- David Byrne sat right behind me, so close I could hear his lovely voice, and Salman Rushdie was at his table too. That’s pretty good.
