This place is 15+ hours away from home but it is probably my favorite dining experience anywhere. Nestled in the dunes on the side of Playa Brava in Jose Ignacio, it seems like the main draw of the whole town. It is fully packed from about 1pm to 2am everyday. They serve tons of very fresh seafood from the ocean 30 ft away, and a few other meaty and vegetably things that all tend to feel just right on the beach. This year we reserved lunch there, two weeks ahead, for every other day we were there, and that wasn’t too much. They are opening a place in the new Faena hotel in Miami for those of you who don’t want to fly 12 hours. These clams, almejas, are one of the best things.
