Tasting Menu(s)- Dedicated to D. Doernberg

Saison-2 Saison-1Chris and I ate at COI in SF.  It was a 12 course tasting menu or small plates and a few well chosen wines.  It was sublime.  It was especially nice to share it with Chris.  He’s one of those people who can recognize all of the tiny flavors in a dish and explain how it works with the other flavors to make something good.

Then I went to Saison (also SF) and sat at the bar for a 14 plate tasting menu with several wines and a few weird cocktails and an armagnac.  Again, sublime.

Wait that’s not all!

When I got back to NYC we went to the brand new Via Carota for Anna’s birthday.  Rita gave us many plates of the most delicious italian food I have eaten in NYC, maybe ever.  It was a very fun crowd there to celebrate Anna’s Birthday and her and Greg’s move to Rome.

I feel VERY lucky to have had such an amazing food week.
